Our Team
The Health Sciences Society is an AMS faculty society representing students in the Queen’s Bachelor of Health Sciences program. We aim to improve student experience and provide opportunities for professional development while upholding our core values of equity, fairness, and transparency. From orientation and career conferences to research workshops and mental health, over 50 HSS student volunteers spanning 6 commissions work throughout the year to develop a positive program culture. In operation since 2020, the HSS Council is responsible for managing societal affairs.

Noor Khan
PRESIDENT
The President is an elected representative of the Health Sciences Society and serves as the primary representative of the HSS, its members, and its vision. Elected by the student body in the preceding academic year, the President provides overall leadership and strategic direction for the Society. They act as the primary liaison between the HSS, the Bachelor of Health Sciences Faculty, and the Alma Mater Society (AMS). The President also oversees the VPOPs, VPUA, Elected Representatives, Health Sciences Orientation Executive Committee (HEC), and Internal Affairs.

VICE PRESIDENT OF UNIVERSITY AFFAIRS
The VPUA is an elected representative responsible for advancing the academic, community, and equity-focused priorities of the Health Sciences Society. They oversee the I-EDIAA, Community, and Academic Affairs Commissions and support the work of the 4P Project and Mental Health Committee.

VICE PRESIDENT OF OPERATIONS
The VPOPs is an elected representative responsible for overseeing the internal operations of the Health Sciences Society. They oversee the Finance, Clubs, and Marketing Commissions and support the planning and delivery of their initiatives. The VPOPs also helps ensure that the Society’s finances, communications, clubs, and internal processes operate effectively and efficiently.

The Clubs Commissioner is responsible for overseeing the long-term development of HSS club infrastructure and acting as a resource and support to HSS-ratified clubs.

The Formal Deputy is responsible for leading and coordinating planning, outreach, and resource allocation for the annual HSS Formal, collaborating with the Community Committee.

The Finance Commissioner is responsible for overseeing financial matters related to the Health Science Society, serving as a resource and point of support for the council regarding finances.

BANKING DEPUTY COMMISSIONER
The Deputy Banking Finance Commissioner is responsible for supporting the Finance Commissioner in managing the Society's day-to-day financial operations, including budgeting, banking, reimbursements, and financial record-keeping. They work to ensure accurate financial reporting, provide budgeting support to Council, and help maintain the Society's financial sustainability through effective financial management.

INVESTMENT DEPUTY COMMISSIONER
The Deputy Investment Finance Commissioner is responsible for supporting the Finance Commissioner in managing the Society's investment portfolio and advancing its long-term financial sustainability. They oversee investment record-keeping, provide regular portfolio updates, promote ethical investment practices in collaboration with relevant commissioners, and help ensure investment records are accurate.

The Internal Affairs Commissioner is responsible for maintaining and updating the HSS Constitution and Society policies as needed. They promote transparency, accountability, and good governance within the Health Sciences Society by ensuring Council adheres to the Constitution, bylaws, and established policies.

The Internal Affairs Deputy Commissioner is responsible for organizing, recording, and maintaining accurate documentation of proceedings at regular Council meetings and Assemblies. The Graphics Deputy supports the daily activities of the Marketing Commission by creating social media content promoting HSS events, initiatives, and community culture. Working under the guidance of the Marketing Commissioner, the Graphics Deputy helps maintain a consistent visual style across HSS platforms by delivering timely media assets (content) for social media, promotions, and archival use.
