About the HSS

Our History

In Fall 2019, a small group of first-year Health Sciences students began to individually reach out to administration and the AMS with the idea of a student society for the Bachelor of Health Sciences program. One by one, we were all directed to each other as our founding group grew. We met over the course of the school year, discussing structure, purpose, policy, and society names until our founding constitution was finalized. The administration and AMS’s guidance, in collaboration with the founding team, led to the establishment of the HSS on October 7, 2020! Soon after, the very first executives were elected, followed by the hiring of the commissioners to complete the inaugural HSS council!
